India's Military Might: Can Target Anywhere in Pakistan! (X )
Talking to a news agency in a recent interview, Lt Gen Sumer Ivan D'Cunha, Director General of Army Air Defence, went on record to confidently state that India has the potential to strike anywhere in Pakistan. Speaking about Operation Sindoor, he underlined that the Indian military is ready to counter any threat from Pakistan.
Operation Sindoor was a major military exercise carried out by India in May, against nine terror-linked targets in Pakistan and Pakistan-Occupied-Kashmir. The exercise was a retaliatory measure taken after a terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, which left 26 people dead, including most of them being tourists. Lt Gen D'Cunha spoke about the efficacy of the exercise, which included the deployment of loitering munitions to attack critical targets in Pakistan.
Lt Gen D'Cunha's remark reinforces India's military preparedness and the country's capacity to handle Pakistan. He pointed out that the whole nation of Pakistan is within the reach of India's military, and even if the Pakistan Army moves its General Headquarters (GHQ) to locations such as Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), they will have to "find a deep hole" in order to escape.
The Director General of Army Air Defence also pointed to the need for indigenously developed technology, such as long-range unmanned aerial vehicles and guided missiles, that was employed during Operation Sindoor. He underscored that these technologies have provided India with a tremendous advantage in modern warfare.
Lt Gen D'Cunha referred to the Russia-Ukraine war and the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, which have amply shown the vast potential of drones in warfare today. He said that India has taken measures to counter and anticipate drone attacks by conducting simulation exercises to prepare personnel.
The Director General Army Air Defence stressed that the defense of the country and its people is the fundamental duty of the military. He pointed out the achievement of Operation Sindoor in repelling the attack on the motherland and giving confidence to the masses.
India's military capability and strength are a strong deterrent to Pakistan. With its capacity to strike at any point in Pakistan, India is making its neighbor take notice. The success of Operation Sindoor and the implementation of homegrown technology have proven India's military preparedness and its capability of reacting to threats.
